Five SEO Tools You Need

Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a very important part of web design and online marketing, and is so often overlooked. It can be extremely difficult to find useful, cost effective, and user-friendly SEO tools. While online marketers can do a lot without using Houston SEO tools, you can only go so far until you must use them in order to be competitive in the online market.

Before purchasing any tools, keep in mind that search engine rules can change on a regular basis, and what works great for you today might not work as well tomorrow. For this reason, it is somewhat difficult to pick out the absolute best tools, but the following tools have proven themselves time and again and are among the best in search engine optimization.

Article Submission Tools

Article submission to directories is one of the best ways to generate traffic to your site, raise inbound links, and improve your rankings. Article submissions have many other positive aspects as well. They build your credibility, make your name known, and help you to become an expert in your niche. Many article directories offer RSS feeds and article directories are high traffic sites that will convert to high traffic on your site as well. The best way to submit articles is to use a submission service that has the ability to send hundreds of articles to multiple directories quickly. That being said, make sure the articles you are submitting contain quality content.

Blogging for SEO

Much like article submission, blogging is also a very popular and efficient SEO tool. Millions of people read blogs every day, and the more blogs you have the more your name and information will be in the public eye. Fill your blog with interesting, quality content and good links and you will generate traffic to your site.

SEO Rank Finder

A rank finder, such as RankSense, is another tool you do not want to be without. Rank finders work exactly as the name suggests. You simply type a keyword into the rank checker and it will check your ranking in all of the major search engines automatically. Typically you will also receive a report containing related keywords and spell check. Checking rank can be a very tedious and time consuming process without a rank finder, making it a very effective SEO tool.

Backings for SEO

Backlinks, and a diverse backlink profile, are necessary for success. The number of backlinks your site has is often the sole and most important factor in determining your ranking in search engines. When you are inserting backlinks, remember that they are not all equal. Backlinks from an authoritative site are very valuable. You also want to make sure that your anchor text and site content are congruent if you want to improve your rankings.

Targeted Keyword Research

Perhaps the most effective tool is targeted keyword research. It is no secret, keywords generate traffic. This is why it is so important that you are targeting the correct keywords. You must do research to find out what keywords people are using in your niche before you even register for your domain name or build your backlinks. After all, if you do not have any of the keywords that users are searching, you will never have any traffic to your site, thus your rankings will never improve.

  1. Great post. One question though – does every website really need a blog? If so, why? It seems like a lot of work.

    • Absolutely. Every website needs a blog to help educate your visitors (clientele) and hopefully sell them to use your services. It’s sales through eduction. Plus it’s really really good for SEO. So there’s no downside. Yes it can be time consuming if you let it be. I like to spend an hour or two a week to get a blog post out. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t.

But consistency is the key with blogging. Continue it and you will eventually build a following and therefore build your sales funnel with leads coming from your website. And this in my opinion crosses every industry.
