Pay Attention – SEO is Evolving!

Austin SEOEvolution is constant, whether speaking of living species, medicine, technology, or web design. Optimization is also constantly evolving along with technology, as new web coding format is developed and marketing techniques change. To stay competitive on the internet today, it is important to keep up with new methods in SEO, especially since the definition of search engine optimization seems to be changing as well.

SEO – An Evolving Definition

Since its inception, search engine optimization has changed and grown; it is generally understood what SEO is while lacking a true definition of exactly what makes up Austin-style SEO. Its definition usually depends on the needs of each individual website; in other words, there really is no standard definition of SEO right now other than to call it the methods used by web designers and marketers to help a website gain better visibility.

SEO and Web Presence – The Same Thing?

Originally, SEO was largely assumed to be the methodology behind using keywords to influence website search results and visibility. That viewpoint has not changed; however, there is much more to optimization now and could perhaps be better described as “web presence optimization.” The reasoning behind this potentially more appropriate name is that while keywords and similar techniques are still used, methods go far beyond keywords. Today, Austin SEO is affected by everything from using the right keywords, to designing a certain way, to tagging media a certain way, and even to adding specific content or using specific web page URLs.

In reality, both search engine optimization and web presence optimization are very similar; however, there is an actual difference because using other methods to improve optimization in general also greatly improves website presence online. Really, presence building is a more accurate term since it is known that making a positive website presence online is critical to the success of that website’s optimization and vice-versa. So, rather than just using SEO which brings to mind little more than keyword methodology, it is fairly obvious that optimizing of an internet presence has to involve more than just basic keyword effort.

Web Presence Optimization

It still begins with the basis of good Austin SEO, which translates to building a website with optimization in mind and careful keyword research; from there, the effort greatly expands. There is content quality and format with content marketing added to that as high quality content can be planned and dispersed in many different ways other than blogs and websites. Now, optimization and presence creation involves email campaigns, social media, blogs, authorship, building of trust and reputation, press releases, and even more. Creating content is now joined with many different efforts to get content seen, spreading it via social and other means. In this sense, increased views improve optimization and optimization increases the number of views.

With so much involved in achieving a good SEO effort in Austin – and increasing online competition – these other methods can allow a website to reach a greater audience, which is the main goal in both cases. The term web presence optimization has become more appropriate over the years, moving from optimization with only keywords and website structure to improving and increasing the entire process. By thinking in the broad term of having a presence rather than just good keywords, a more optimized, competitive website can be found!
