The link landscape is always changing. A few years ago they devalued directories and now they give a bonus to big brands. The Vince update made big waves in the link graph. In any case it’s still all about the links.

Yes – very true. I use one called “NoDoFollow” that does the same. In researching nofollow vs dofollow, I decided to make this blog a DoFollow blog. So links coming from here count.

Very true – and really, sometimes when you are trying to look natural, you don’t. Like getting too many links too quickly.

Thanks a lot for the share. For my web business I used to try and link to every website possible to get inbound links. But I have learnt now. I have also found a firefox add-on called SearchStatus to find out whether a link is dofollow or nofollow.

I am more interested in Quality Links. Hundreds of times when I was trying to link my site to those quality website by posting in forum, or blog comment, it was a truth that the links or posts would be delected soon. So, do you have good tips for that?

great post and as you can tell nothing much has changed in the SEO field. Content and links still rule how your site is indexed in the SERPS. It is the way you get links and build content is what has changed over the years

SEO importance is links, links and more links (external seo) – now it comes down to the source of those links, niche and contextual positioning and anchor texts.

Not sure how google are changing things, but typically it will get harder to look natural unless you actually are.
